Dr. Tien is a strong proponent for using conservative/non-surgical treatment methods first to improve her patient’s symptoms. However, she is also prepared to provide surgical treatment when necessary. Dr. Tien offers surgical solutions for her patients to decrease pain associated with a deformity and improve function. She does not recommend cosmetic foot surgery. With this patient-centered approach, Dr. Tien is able to provide the best patient care possible with the least invasive, but most effective treatment. Her rigorous surgical training has equipped her to be a highly skilled foot and ankle surgeon. She is also available as a second-opinion on surgical cases of the foot and ankle. Dr. Tien incorporates the use of the most-innovative technology and surgical hardware that is appropriate for her patients.

• Most foot and ankle surgeries are performed in an outpatient setting- that means surgery is often in the morning and patients go home the same day! No overnight hospitalization is required.

• Prior to having foot and/or ankle surgery, you may be required to have pre-operative labs and imaging performed and a medical clearance by your primary care provider. 

• Our office staff will work with your insurance carrier prior to surgery to avoid unnecessary surprises and stress for you.
